City Clerk’s Office

Duties of the City Clerk:

The City Clerk’s Office is the officially designated record keeping agency for the City and is responsible for all public documents both current and archival; prepares agenda, attends, and records the proceedings of all Council meetings; maintains records of all rules, ordinances, and resolutions of the Council; acts as custodian of the City Seal; conducts all municipal elections; performs legal advertising for the City; schedules, coordinates, and plans special events and functions for the Council; and provides general administrative and clerical assistance to the Council.

The City Clerk’s Office is located at Irondale City Hall located at 101 20th Street South and is open from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. Monday through Friday. 

Department Functions & Responsibilities:

The City Clerk is the Custodian of Records for the City of Irondale, which includes all minutes, resolutions, ordinances and codes of the City. The City Clerk is also the City’s Chief Election Official and is responsible for the administration of municipal elections.

Public Services & Information:

The City Council of the City of Irondale holds two regular meetings each month, on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 o’clock P.M. City Council meetings are held in the Council Chambers on the first floor of City Hall.  The City Council President may call special called meetings, notice of which is provided.

Minutes of City Council meetings are available for review in the City Clerk’s Office. 

Requests for information may be filed with the City Clerk. Requests for public records maintained by other departments as designated agents of the City Clerk will be forwarded to the proper department.

All public record requests must be made in person and in writing. A Public Record Request form is available in the Clerk’s office.
