Shades Valley Girls Defeats Wenonah

Congratulations to the Shades Valley High School Girls Basketball team on their victory over two-time reigning state champions Wenonah High School.  The Lady Mounties played their best game of the year in front of a large home crowd out dueling the nationally ranked Lady Dragons.

Camryn London scored 21 points as Class 6A, unranked Shades Valley defeated 5A No. 1 and previously unbeaten Wenonah 62-49.

Wenonah led 28-27 at halftime, but Shades Valley swung momentum by outscoring the Dragons 17-8 in the third quarter.

Nadia Cathey added 15 points for the host Mounties (14-7), who knocked off 6A No. 8 Huffman 42-31 on Tuesday. Faith Reynolds scored 20 points, and Kaitlyn Rodgers added 14 for the two-time reigning state champion Dragons (24-1).

Please come support our Lady Mounties as they seek another state championship, since being crowned state champions in 2014.
