Shades Valley got its first win of the season as the Mountains defeated Center Point 27-14 in 6A action.

Leaders for Shades Valley included Anthony Conwell with two touchdown receptions and Lil’maine Patterson with a 10-yard touchdown run. Quarterback Claude Newell was 16 of 30 passing for 133 yards and three touchdowns to go with 12 carries for 62 yards rushing. Conwell had six receptions for 39 yards.

The defensive highlight on the night was a fumble recovery in the end zone by Khalil Melton. Shades Valley (1-2) faces John Curtis from Louisiana next Friday, while Center Point will play Woodlawn.
