The Washington Post recently released their annual High School Challenge information recognizing the Most Challenging High Schools in the Nation. Irondale’s own Jefferson County International Baccalaureate (JCIB) High School placed in the top 10 in the nation at #9 and #1 in the state of Alabama.
America’s Most Challenging High Schools ranks schools through an index formula that’s a simple ratio: the number of Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate and Advanced International Certificate of Education tests given at a school each year, divided by the number of seniors who graduated that year. Nearly 2,300 public and private high schools nationwide, were ranked in this study.
