IRONDALE — Zedrik Pitts took off in a slight jog on the track that surrounds the practice field at Shades Valley High School in Irondale.
It’s a familiar place for him. “I don’t do the same activity more than once,” said Pitts, an Army reservist from Alabama.  Staff Sgt. Pitts is training for the Warrior Games, a week-long Olympic-style competition for wounded, ill or injured service members or veterans.

Pitt, suffers from Graves Disease, a condition where the thyroid overproduces. Doctors diagnosed him in December of 2013.
