Irondale Police “Random Acts of Kindness” Program Featured On Fox 6 News

Fox 6 news reporter, John Huddleston recently rode with Irondale Police officers as part of a special police sting. This was an unusual mission because the target was not potential law violators, instead officers targeted unsuspected motorist to present them with special holiday gift cards.  These efforts are the result of the 2nd Annual Irondale Police,” Random Acts of Kindness” program.

This program was created by Irondale Police Chief, Ken Atkinson and Irondale Commercial Development Authority (CDA) Chairman, Darryl Washington, as a way to improve Irondale police/citizen relations during the holiday season.  According to Police Chief Atkinson, “The Random Acts of Kindness program is a perfect example of how collaboration is the true catalyst of effecting change. Our partnership with the Irondale CDA helps to create a caring, sharing and connected Irondale community.”
