Irondale Police Announces New “Cop Stop Initiative”

The Irondale Police Department has partnered with Irondale On The Move  and the Holiday Gardens Neighborhood Association  to a implement a new community outreach program called Irondale’s Cop Stop Initiative. According to Irondale Police Chief, Ken Atkinson, “Each month a targeted street in Holiday Gardens will be blocked off to give Irondale residents an opportunity to interact with the police officers assigned to their neighborhood, in a casual and fun setting.”

The first Irondale Cop Stop in Holiday Gardens will take place Friday November 11th from 4:30 to 6:30 PM on Paramount Drive.  Police cars will be present at the intersections of; Danton Lane & Paramount Drive, Terry Lane & Paramount Drive and Bonnie Bell Lane.

All Holiday Gardens residents are encouraged to attend and share any concerns or suggestions they have on improving their neighborhood. Leaders from the Irondale Police Department, Holiday Gardens Neighborhood Association and the Irondale On The Move – Community Renewal task force will be present to address questions and capture any action items. Outstanding issues will be tracked and a status will be provided during the monthly Holiday Gardens Neighborhood Association meetings.

Free food and music will be provided to create an “old school” block party atmosphere !!
