Irondale City Council Approves Funding For Comprehensive Plan

Irondale, AL –  The Irondale City Council took an important step toward shaping the future of the city with the passage of a resolution to fund a comprehensive city plan.  Resolution 2014-R-169 authorizes the Mayor to contract with the Regional Planning Commission to develop a Comprehensive Plan for the City of Irondale in an amount not to exceed $13,500.00.  According to Councilor Craig Sanderson, ” I believe that this plan is essential in promoting Economic Development in Irondale.”

The Irondale Commercial Development Authority will partner with the City of Irondale on the funding, development and implementation of the plan.  A comprehensive plan informs public policy, growth, infrastructure development and service delivery for a community. Comprehensive plans typically encompasses large geographical areas and addresses a broad range of topics such as transportation, utilities, land use, recreation and housing.
