The Greater Irondale Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present Dr. Craig Pouncey, who becameåÊSuperintendent of the Jefferson County School System on July 1, 2014.Serving more than 36,000 students in fifty-six schools, Jefferson County is Alabama’s second largest school system.åÊ Dr. Pouncey previously served as Chief of Staff for the State Department of Education and Superintendent of Education for Crenshaw County Schools.åÊ His Ed.D. is from Samford University.
While at the State Department, his responsibilities included proper use and distribution of all state and federal funds for K-12, legislative liaison, and financial accountability.
His hobbies are spending time with family, including two grandchildren, hunting, and managing timber.
