Irondale Water System provides you with a clean and dependable supply of the best water available. This is a job we take seriously. We have to work hard and make continuous improvements to keep our system in top -notch order. Please give the water department a call at (205) 951-1410 if you see water around your meter box or in the streets. The sooner we can fix leaks the better for the department and for our unaccounted for water. This helps our wells and cuts down on our production cost.
We have installed a new high-technology automatic water meter reading system that automatically collects consumption, diagnostic, and status data from water meters in Irondale and transfers that data to a central database for billing, troubleshooting, and analyzing. The new system will allow us to collect the meter readings more efficiently and effectively while reducing the amount of energy used in vehicles.
We are proud to announce that in March 2013, while attending a water conference in Montgomery Al, we entered a water taste testing contest and came in as runner up. That shows that our water employee’s work very hard in order to keep Irondale Water System a top notch water system.
Each year the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the State of Alabama require all water suppliers to prepare an annual drinking water quality report. If you have any questions about this report or concerning your water quality or to report leaks, please contact Ronnie Burns at 205-951-1410.
We want our valued customers to be informed about their water quality. If you want to learn more, please attend any of our regularly scheduled meetings. The City Council serves as our water board and holds meetings on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PM in the Council Chamber of the Irondale City Hall.
